I went to Tung Chung and took a ride on “Ngong Ping 360″ cable car to see the big Buddha on the mountain. If you ever come to Hong Kong and you haven’t been there, don’t miss it.

A great scenic photo by Dave Aufrance in Sai Kung. This is the kind of view I have never seen in Hong Kong and I know it takes quite some hiking to get to see it…As Dave said: “It shows a side of Hongkong that most people aren’t familiar with - space and few houses!”

Today is DP theme day on “the color blue” and here’s a suggestion from our chief: This time, take a picture of something prominently blue. Be creative! A picture of the sky fits the criteria, but is very boring.

Perhaps you have noticed that I have posted a “shops from the bus” series to in the past few days (missing posts again :p), here’s a dried goods shop in Sheung Wan and the specialty is dried salted sausages, ham and probably salted fish plus a lot of different kinds of sauces.

Behold, the mountain in the background is the famous Lion Rock, famous for its shape and that it is visible from various places in Kowloon. The term “Below the Lion Rock” generally means “life in Hong Kong” carrying a hidden meaning of it being tough. There is also a song with the same name which touches the heart of many HK people and is considered the most representative song of the city.

Here’s a view of Causeway Bay from the Eastern Corridor, a seaside highway providing fast access from the eastern part of HK island to Causeway Bay/Wanchai. This photo was taken near the exit of the highway.

The plane was just starting to take off and this is the photo I took while the plane was moving. Beautiful, isn’t it? I must say I have never seen sunset from the air before. You’ll see the last photo of this series tomorrow.
