Beach scene

Hong Kong

A day at the beach…this is the view of the little hill by the beach. You can see people coming down from a hike and a very laid back life guard on duty.

Elaine

people

Although I would like this photo to be sharper, with less noise and with a better angle, but I think I should post it — meet Elaine, another HongKonger who is working at the special Hong Kong exhibition in Beijing — I’m sure visitors would have a very good impression of Hong Kong girl when they are greeted by Elaine at the reception :-)

Note: I have “put back” the missing posts from June 27th to 30th (Airport Express, Passing by, Surviving and Flower tree), please have a look.

Faces

school

The faces of Hong Kong people — this is one of the few exhibits I really like (most of them are a little bit too factual I should say). Hong Kong is really not much different from all other big cities, except for its people and the culture. No good exhibition on Hong Kong can do without a good profile of its people. :-)

Ah Shing

school

Meet Ah Shing, a student and volunteer from Hong Kong I met at the exhibition (see yesterday’s post). Ah Shing was busy manning a display which shows visitors the different districts of Hong Kong. Good for you Ah Shing, you must be just a small kid 10 years ago when Hong Kong was returned to China, now you are really representing the city in Beijing :-)

To Wordpress

girl

After a lot of panic, stress, worries, trials and errors, blood and tears (almost) I have finally managed to revive this blog with the help of Ham (of London Daily Photo). What happened was I upgraded Wordpress from 2.1 to 2.2 and nothing worked afterwards, all the 400+ posts and comments were gone; and for the first time, I missed post and I missed for a whole week. But hey, now I’m back.

This is a photo I took a few days ago in Hong Kong while enjoying a cup of milk tea and this little girl gave me the look I so wanted to give to Wordpress 2.2. :-)

UPDATE: all missing posts (June 8 to 15) are missing no more :-), please have a look.

I will fill in the missing posts tomorrow so please drop by and check them. My sincere thanks to all those who had written and are so concerned about Hong Kong, one photo a day. And once again, thanks to Ham and Denton.

A photo by J Pilimatalawwe of a guy fishing at the Tung Chung Pier, J entitled this photo “Waiting for the right moment” so maybe this guy might be really waiting for love. Please visit J’s blog at Pinchpoints.blogspot.com. :-)

A photo taken earlier at the Flower Show, these students were with a group from a local school and obviously, there was some work to be done instead of just browsing through the floral event. :-)

Children’s day

April 4th is Children’s Day in Hong Kong and Taiwan, so I’m posting this photo of children I took at the Hong Kong Flower Show. It was a humid stuffy day and it looked like some were not enjoying the field trip, but hey you kids had a day out while most of us was stuck in the office, so SMILE!
