Hello kitty

Hong Kong

A kitty deep in thought…I took this photo near the King George V Memorial Park. :-)

Thirsty dog

street scene

This is a photo by Ysengrin and I like the title he gave it…and here’s Ysengrin’s caption: Cerberus is living in Peng Shau but he don’t look after any door, his treasure is a wall of empty bottles. After emptying all these bottles, it’s master is probably sleeping around.

Monkey king

We are starting another round of contributors’ photos and I shall be in HK in about a week, and YES more new photos :-)

This one is by SiuSiu taken at the Shing Mun Reservoir which is occupied by monkeys…thousands of them. And I should also point out that SiuSiu has some fancy lense to create those little “light bulbs” behind the monkey.

Cat in waiting

So I’m back! Thanks to all the contributors who sent me photos and we’ve just had the first round in the past 2 weeks. I’m on a business trip in Guangzhou today and will be spending this weekend in HK, that means more new photos are coming up :-). I took this one in Lamma Island a while ago and I like the feeling that this cat is facing the sunset and looked like it is expecting something/someone, and there was a faint golden line around its body.

Cat-lovers

Sheung Wan

Though they can’t keep these “homeless” cats at home, some cat-lovers bring them water and food everyday. And in fact, these cats are kept in good shape.

p.s. share your Hong Kong photos with us, click here for details.

Hissing cat quoting Lewis Carroll: You must be mad……or you wouldn’t have come here. The truth behind all these HK photos — not all of us are friendly! LOL. Regarding cats, I think people can be referred to in these groups and quotations:
Cat lover: The idea of calm exists in a sitting cat. — Jules Renard (yeah, like this one?)
Cat hater: Your cat’s missing? Have you checked my bumper? — anonymous for obvious reason (LOL)
Neutral:I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals. — Winston Churchill (isn’t Sir Winston an interesting figure? A man of wisdom.)
Whichever group you’re in, have a good week!

Birds’ happy hour

060926s.jpg

Around 5:30 pm a few days ago, outside some office buildings in CyberPort, birds of the same feather flock together for Happy Hour…beer? Probably not but maybe they’ve got some peanuts. If you look closer, you’ll see another bird at the centre background…not of the same feather so it’s a loner ;p

White dove

The symbol of peace (minus olive branch) gazing out at the sea — I took this photo at a beach a couple of weeks ago.
I went to Catholic school up until I finished secondary school so we prayed at school everyday. When I was small we prayed for world peace especially during Christmas and New Year. I thought then peace was something easily achieveable like getting good grade if we studied hard enough (yes, I was really small). I even thought when peace would be achieved next year we would move on to pray for something new. I sounded angry yesterday but well, we should never give up hoping, maybe we are approaching peace everyday though by nano millimetres.

Take a break

Mr Dove: It’s sunday, and I need a break from being chased by those kids…

Tiger to Panda: “She’s here with the camera again!”
“Yeah…I know…been snooping around like that for weeks.”
“What should we do, what about our personality rights?”
“Eh…don’t worry, I just closed my eyes to spoil her shot…just like people always do!”

I think they are beautiful though uncooperative. Well…should also credit them for holding still on that railing. :-)
