Tianjin

Where do you think this building is located? Europe? North America? It is actually in Tianjin, one of the four direct administration cities in Mainland China, meaning whoever leads the city reports directly to Beijing and not any provincial government. I was there a few weeks ago and it is a beautiful city. Starting from tomorrow, it will take only 35 minutes on a fast speed train from Beijing to Tianjin so making it a nice escape from the crowded and polluted Beijing.

Beijing

The area was previously a cluster of old decommissioned military factory buildings, which now, among many small galleries, features lots of lovely spaces such as this little cafe.

Shengsi

The simple life of an old couple on the Shengsi Islands. They were playing a kind of tile game using mahjong tiles and enjoying their quiet life with a few tourists hanging around. The islands are located in the mouth of the Yangtze River and are in the eastern-most part of China which is very close to Japan.
