Farewell

Hong Kong

It’s time to say Goodbye. 2 years, 731 posts, a lot of fun plus lots of good friends…

I started HKDP two years ago after being away from Hong Kong for a while and found Eric’s Paris Daily Photo by chance. HKDP was either the 13th or 16th (can’t remember for sure) blog in the Daily Photo Family, it was a small and cozy circle then. Now, it has grown into a big community of nearly 500 blogs and I really am sorry that I have to leave.

Today’s is the last daily post of this site and I took this photo at the Po Lin Monastery showing one of the statues making offerings to the Buddha.

I will try to post from time to time but I can’t promise to do it regularly; but I do believe that you, the friends I have made through this site in the past two years will keep visiting and we’ll keep in touch. :-)

    Hey Lisi,

Sorry to see you’re leaving, but I am not going to blame you, I know what it’s like to post a daily photo 2 years in a row!! A lot of memories come back to me, especially when I celebrated my first anniversary and when the whole family took a photo that had to do with Paris. If I remember well, you posted a view of HK with your computer on the foreground with a PDP photo on the desktop !

It was nice having you aboard, hope I can meet you one day.

    All the best

Thanks for the daily enjoyment that I got from HKDP and that you kept going for so long.

I will check back regularly to see if you have posted something new…

    Thanks!

I have been homesick for Hong Kong and your daily photos have been a joy to me. Thank you so much for all your work taking and posting these pictures. They have been appreciated so very much by my family, all of whom have been viewing your site daily to indulge in a little nostalgia for our old home.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Lisi, I can’t believe that you’re closing this blog… you’ve shown us so many wonderful sides of beautiful Hong Kong. I believe it was fate that made me come for a visit right on your last day! I wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day and goodbye, for now.

    Leosista!

It has been the most fantastic 2 years. You were so wonderful to both KLDP and me. Those early days when we used to comment everyday. And the postcard you sent me still pinned proudly on my wall.

Our ‘little’ community will miss HKDP. First Kris over at Szentes and now you… KLDP is losing it’s sister cities. BUT I know we’ll keep in touch with a hello every now and then.

Happy Valentine’s Day. I wish you love everyday.

    xx leobrotha

Two years? sems impossible. Thanks ever so for filling out my dreams of China - one day, one day…….

All the very best. I know you’ve really had to put a load of effort into keeping HKDP running all this time.

Good bye Lisi, you were always a good friend, not like me :) I remember the cozy circle and as you said it has been really nice
to be here from the beginning. You are a real veteran in the group and your presence is going to be missed. I don’t know your reasons
but I am sure you feel a mixture of relief and nostalgy at the same time. Don’t worry you’ll get over it fast. Besides, you can always
come back and visit some of us or post something. In fact I believe it is the same thing. Posting when you feel like it must be awesome
and I can’t see the difference between daily or not so daily. Wherever you are I wish you the best, a lot of good health and success. Thanks for choosing
this statue offering presents to Buddha, it’s the perfect picture to say good bye.

Dear all, thanks for your kind words…I almost decided to resume…but it would be quite impossible now that I don’t live in HK.

db, I would love to watch that Zidane film one day…

Michelle, I already have one or two photos from other cities to post…but I have to figure out how to change the blog name first :-)

Old faithful Walter…what else should I say?

Greg, I still have one or two of your photos so maybe I’ll post them later :-)

eclair, I feel so glad and so sorry to read your message, glad because of your whole family is visiting; sorry because I can’t post daily anymore. Do come back and browse the archive, there might be some early ones that you would like!

Jilly and Anu, friends of the DP family, thank you!

Monique, my old friend, I will miss you too!

Edwin Leobrota, I’m dreaming for a photo with you in HK which I can post one day :-)

Keropokman, maybe, maybe one day I’ll move back to HK and start posting daily again…I don’t know…

Ham, one day, one day…thanks again for rescuing HKDP last time.

    Carlos…that’s what I’m going to do…posting whenever I can…

Jean my friend, yes, we shall meet in Vancouver, probably later this year!

Thank again to all my visitors, I shall miss you too.

Lisi, You’ve been part of the soul of the CDPB family. Your friendly and frequent comments to so many of us helped to form a real feeling of community as we got to know each other’s cities. HKDP always seemed to professional with many features or effects most of us wouldn’t know the first thing about including in our templates. Not only are your photos interesting, insightful, and artistic, your commentary too was very enjoyable and I learned a lot and laughed a lot, too! Everyone has said it, so you’d better believe it–you will be missed.
Keep looking in on us. Its always a big day brightener when the name “Lisi” pops in the in-box! Wishing you new adventures behind the lens,
    -Kim
