Habibi

HK

Just like there is a “Great Wall Restaurant” in most big cities, there is a “Habibi Restaurant” in at least three of the cities I have lived. I guess you already know the direction to the one in Hong Kong. :-)

And your Habibi Restaurant sign is on a great wall as well. Kris, my family includes a distant relative who is a professional belly dancer. Also, my mother and sister have taken belly dance lessons. This is very strange for a boy who grew up in a rural America.

As I understand it, habibi means something akin to “darling” in Arabic. The mother of a friend of mine calls him habibi and I think there is a “rock” song with lyrics like “habibi, you are my habibi”
