This is one of the most common scenes of daily life in Hong Kong and another photo taken from a bus. These girls were maids waiting for their young masters who were going to be dropped off by school bus…a good time for these ladies to get together with their friends and catch up…

I took this photo from the top deck of a bus while I was stuck in a big traffic jam in Causeway Bay. This shop is a popular place for soy milk and bean curb, in fact, I heard it has become a popular franchise store. I especially like the fried bean curb there…very tasty!!!! Happy Sunday and sorry for the late post today

At the corner of Cochrane Street and Lyndhurst Terrace is Dozo!, a Japanese restaurant painted bright red and is so eye-catching…I have’t tried it myself but this place is usually not very busy…mmm…so…:-) Btw, does anyone know what Dozo means in Japanese? I have the feeling that it means either “please” or “thank you”.

I took this photo a while ago when I went to see the movie “The double life of Veronique”, one of my favorite art movies. But what I want to talk about here is really why we are not allowed to take photos in shopping malls and even cinemas these days. A staff of the cinema spotted me taking this photograph and told me I couldn’t, I asked why and she shrugged, no answer. Does anybody know why?

The pattern on all of these nostalgic household items may look familiar to you…the double happiness is actually a mirrow image of the Chinese character “happiness” 喜, and very often it appears in wedding, banquets and anything associated with wedding. This is the show window of a wedding shop.

I have shown this area many times before — SoHo, south of Hollywood Road, is a nightlife and entertainment area between the Mid-Levels and Central District. It’s Monday today but I’m already looking forward to Friday
