If you’re not superstitious, the Chinese New Year month is the perfect time to shop for books because it is traditionally the slowest season for bookstores and books are often on sale. Why? Because the pronounciation of “book” is the same with “lose” in Cantonese, and why would anyone want to “lose”? But I for one has proved that it is just a superstition…I’ve got nothing to lose anywaz
