Cozy dinner

061228s.jpg

Just a random shot to capture the moment when I had a cozy Boxing Day dinner with high school friends…I just put my camera on the table and clicked after we had wined and dined and were having tea and coffee. These are people I grew up with and we are very close like sisters…btw, I wonder if that reflection of the top part of a head is mine…

p.s. HK is experiencing an unprecedented disruption of internet and phone line connections because of a series of earthquakes in Taiwan which damaged 6 major undersea fibre optic cables serving the region. It will take a few days for the damaged cables to be repaired, so I would just like to let you know that I can’t visit your blogs these days but luckily I managed to make a few very simple posts this morning…Hope things will return to normal soon…

Nice shot of the glassware. Nosey question: what’s that retangular thingy in front of the teapot? Hope the Pacific cables are fixed quickly so we don’t miss any of your posts. :-)

Yes, friendship is to be treasured. It’s interesting how powerful nature is and the fact that our control extends only so far. Hope your evening with your friends was happy—looks like it!

Michelle, yeah, I’ve to be drunk to focus the photo, lol, but that’s an interesting reflection.

walter, that’s my friend’s cell phone…true that it doesn’t look like a cell phone from this perspective :-)

Olivier and Kate, thank you…as hi-tech as we are now, people forgot that hi-tech is not immune from the effect of nature’s power!

This greedy fellow wants to know what did you all have for dinner?

Not on HK, Singapore and most of Asia’s Internet connection is also disrupted. Yesterday was almost impossible, but today’s things seems to be back to normal.

I heard about the earthquake and it seems it affected the internet acces everywhere in China. Which is really strange because originally the internet was created for military purposes, having a network without central. So if one part if damaged the information can be delivered on alternative routes but it seems it doesnt work like this. Anyway..I hope you will get your access soon Lisi.
