Shopping spree

Another photo taken at the 41st Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo. The event turns out to be a big outdoor shopping mall for locals. It was very crowded especially at the food items area where people shop for discounted noodles, sauces (oh yes, oyster sauce too ;-)) and snacks. As you can see, being so well decorated, this jeweler’s booth was not really busy.

To Ming the Merciless, oyster sauce lover: Lisi and I have conducted extensive research on the subject of O.S. and concluded that Lee Kum Kee’s Premium Oyster Flavored Sauce is the best there is on this planet. Btw, Lisi…great picture. Must be pretty difficult to take this shot without a sweivel LCD viewer?

this is the first time I can see someone in wheelchair on a DP photo. Can you tell me more Lisi if in HongKong disabled people get enough help to move freely on the streets?
As about Budapest the situation is critical..people in wheelchairs can’t even enter the basic services (post, stores etc.) because of the stairs and other obstacles.

Olivier, not a Christmas market but kind of an expo for local products and brands…

Ming the Merciless, not only do you share the same love for oyster sauce with walter, he can actually tell you where to get LKK oyster sauce in New York PLUS he has interesting story to tell about home-made oyster sauce (actually, I’m curious too…)

walter, having done that often enough, it’s not really difficult to handle without swivel viewfinder, but I think my FZ10 must be one of the most ill-treated of its kind…

Zsolt…I think HK is much better than in Europe, but not as well planned as most North American cities in terms of facilities for disabled person. I guess the problem with Europe is that most of the buildings and facilities are old/historic and not meant to be rebuilt or remodeled, but in the case of HK, well…we knock down and rebuild things quite often so that makes updating facilities easier…I can’t tell you how many luggage-related painful experience I had in European train stations and hotels :-)

thanks to everybody for dropping by…just a week before Christmas and I have to return to my assignment now. Tomorrow, I’ll be free!

Lisi, it’s been a while since I stop by here to leave my footprint. I do see your photos everyday though. I have been very busy lately, but I want to stop by to tell you I do look at your photos daily.

BTW, Alexandria, Kuala Lumpur, Paris and Antigua have night photography in the recent days. You should come out of HK and check them out.
