“Chief, paparazzi alert! This one is not myrmecophobic…” (Myrmecophobia = fear of ants)
These guys were working extra hard to get ready for autumn, smart of them to hang around a picnic ground. They don’t seem to be anthropophobic. (Anthropophobia = fear of people) Here’s a shot from the ants’ point of view.
Do you have any phobia? Phobophobia, maybe??!! LOL (Phobophobia = fear of phobias)

my daughter sometimes shivers on the sight of ants. she might put on a face seeing this shot!
I don’t think I have a phobia. anyway… great catch, lisi!

Hi Lisi,
Nice image - big looking ants!
My phobia is a common one for some communities - fear of missing a day on daily photo blog…

Cheers,
The Blue One
October 12th, 2006, at 11:03 pm #Excellent Lisi!
October 12th, 2006, at 11:19 pm #I was in HK a few years ago, and I LOVED it. Your site really takes me back and shows me things from a new perspective and also things I didn’t have enough time to see.
You take wonderful pictures as well. Your use of color is really nice (as well as your use of ants! How did you get so close?).
By the way, I have a fear of needles, as in getting shots at the doctors office. :*( Yuck.
October 13th, 2006, at 3:30 am #I think I see Marianne! She’s the fifth behind the fella with the red nose.
October 13th, 2006, at 5:20 am #We have too much to learn of ants, they have order and respect Nature.
Greetings
October 13th, 2006, at 6:18 am #Great close-up! I see that they are making their way from the tree to the fence. I don’t like rats.
October 13th, 2006, at 7:19 am #Very cool photo. I can see the trend now. Ants around the world … I especially like the ants point of view photo.
October 13th, 2006, at 9:33 am #wow what a nice shot from the view of ants - these guys look pretty big - my phobia is workphobia =)
October 13th, 2006, at 3:14 pm #tanty, phobia of waterfall…I would have to look it up in the online phobia list to find out what it is called ;-).
Bluey, I don’t really have that phobia but I did get quite anxious once when Blogger was acting up
Shrig, thank you for the compliment…I used macro and zoomed in…I can’t get too close, can I?
W, good eye, are you a relative? hehe
Kala my dear friend, LOL, I have the same phobia or maybe it’s just very common.
Thanks everyone…as for my phobia, have you noticed I haven’t posted anything underground yet? my other fear is flying cockcroach…they don’t navigate very well and very often like to just bump into people…yuck!
October 13th, 2006, at 3:20 pm #unfortunately i do have a phobia and it’s even hard to say it, phobia of death.
October 13th, 2006, at 7:21 pm #I can envisage the film now “March of the Ants”
By the way, what camera do you use Lisi, some kind of digital SLR, your last two posts have perfect depth of field?
October 15th, 2006, at 7:53 am #cool photo but sometime ants give me the shivers too. I don’t know why really
October 15th, 2006, at 8:30 am #cool shot! =D
October 15th, 2006, at 11:34 am #so lisi, you have fear of “xiao chiang”? hehe… why do HK serials call them xiao qiang?
October 16th, 2006, at 12:01 am #That is SUCH a cool photo!
October 19th, 2006, at 6:08 pm #I know, I know I’m late, but when I saw your link from today’s photo I just had to see this one. Everyone else has said the obvious, but it truly is a beautiful photo. Congratulations!
There’s a new film coming out called Termites or something like that by the same producers of the film about the penguines (I think). I’ll think of you if I go see it lisi.
October 21st, 2006, at 2:52 pm #Spectacular photo! The ants have almost a translucent quality to them, making them look delicate and even kind of pretty. Really nice work. They look so different from the ants over here, which are black and thick looking.
October 21st, 2006, at 5:23 pm #Nice Shoot!
